Leipzig String Quarter

Founded in 1988, the Leipzig String Quartet has garnered worldwide acclaim as one of the most expressive string quartets in the international chamber music scene: the newspaper Neue Züricher Zeitung has described it as “one of the most impressive and versatile quartets of our time”, while the New York Times exclaimed, “If there is a ‘Leipzig sound,’ this is it!” Nowadays, the Leipzig Quartet tours all of Europe, Africa, South and Central America, Asia, Australia, Israel and Japan, including appearances at many large festivals. In North America, the quartet has performed in the chamber music series of the celebrated Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, as well as at many other venues.
