Founded in 1908, the Santa Cecilia National Academy Orchestra has been led by legendary directors such as Arturo Toscanini, Georg Solti and Carlos Kleiber.
Its current musical director, Sir Antonio Pappano, also occupies the position of musical director of Convent Garden, in London, and makes appearances as a guest conductor for some of the best orchestras of the world. In 2005 he was named conductor of the year by the Royal Philharmonic Society.
The 22-year-old Californian pianist Beatrice Rana began to shine as a soloist after winning the International Competition of Canada at the age of 18 and receiving, in 2013, the silver medal at the Van Cliburn International Competition, in Forth Worth. In 2014, Beatrice was included on International Piano magazine’s “30 under 30” list.
