Eduardo Fernandez

Eduardo Fernandez guitar

Fernández started studying guitar at the age of seven and made his international breakthrough in the 1970s, winning the Andrés Segovia Award (Majorca, 1975), among many other international competitions (including the Porto Alegre competition in 1972 and the Radio France in 75). After his US debut in 1977, the New York Times wrote: “rarely have we witnessed such a notable debut, in any instrument”.
Since then, he has performed all over the world, including the USA (where he has played every season since 1977), Europe, Latin America and the Far East (Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Thailand, Singapore and Australia). His numerous recordings for the labels Decca/London, Erato, Denon, Arte Nova and, currently, Oehms Classics, cover a substantial swath of his guitar repertoire, both solo and orchestral.
