Orchestra Del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino
Zubin Mehta Conductor
The star conductor Zubin Mehta returns to São Paulo ahead of the orchestra which contributed, in 1933, to the birth of one of the oldest and most renowned music festivals in Europe: the Maggio Musicale of Florence. Furtwängler, Kemperer, Karajan, Bernstein, Abbado and Chailly are but a few of the masters who have conducted the orchestra; Richard Strauss, Igor Stravinsky, Paul Hindemith and Luciano Berio are some of the composers who lead the celebrated Italian ensemble. Zubin Mehta, holder of countless awards and honors, is currently the orchestra’s lifelong honorary conductor.
