Orchestra Della Svizzera Italiana
Alexander Vedernikov Conductor
Dang Thai Son Piano

Founded in 1935 as radiophonic orchestra, the Orchestra of the Italian Switzerland is distinguished by the versatility that allows it to perform with a variable number of components. The group has the underlying ability to draw to its headquarters, in Lugano, soloists and conductors of the highest status. The orchestra has been conducted by composers such as Richard Strauss, Darius Milhaud and Paul Hindemith, to name but a few. Alexander Vedernikov, who has worked as musical director and lead conductor of the famous Bolshoi Theatre, conducts the orchestra in this concert, which features the exceptional Vietnamese pianist Dang Thai Son as a soloist.
