In 1984, Evgeny Kissin attracted international attention by masterfully interpreting the two piano concertos of Fryderyk Chopin alongside the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra. At that moment, at the age of 13, he emerged as one of the most remarkable pianists of his generation. Today, with extensive discography awarded the Grammy and the Diapason d'Or, Kissin is doctor honoris causa from the Manhattan School of Music, Honorary Member of London’s Royal Academy of Music and holder of the Shostakovich Prize, one of the highest musical commendations given by the Government of Russia.
