Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse
Tugan Sokhiev Conductor
Bertrand Chamayou Piano
Created in the early 19th century to accompany the opera seasons at the Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse, this two-hundred-year-old French orchestra developed its symphonic talent under the guidance of Michel Plasson, from the late 1960’s. Tugan Sokhiev was appointed musical director of the orchestra in 2008, same year that the group was awarded an important Victoire d'Honneur. Ahead of the Toulouse Orchestra, Sokhiev has been receiving lavish critical praise for his interpretations of Rimsky-Korsakov, Mussorgsky and Prokofiev.
