A stellar presence brings to a close our 2010 International Season. Like Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman reigns supreme in the hearts of audiences worldwide, with the great virtuosity of his instrument. Winner of 15 Grammys and 4 Emmys, he has also long retained the rare status of celebrity. Born in Israel in 1945, this remarkable violinist has been awarded with the highest commendations throughout his career, like the “Medal of Freedom” and the “National Medal of Arts”, bestowed by the United States government, as well as honorary degrees from Harvard and Yale.
