PHILIPPE HERREWEGHE - CONDUCTOR
Admired throughout the globe, Orchestre des Champs-Elysées's field of expertise is the interpretation of music composed from mid-18th century to the beginning of the 20th century. Created in 1991, the orchestra has been performing in the main concert halls in Europe, from the Musikverein in Vienna to the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
Concerts in the Lincoln Center in New York and tours around Japan, Korea, China and Australia have complemented the group's extensive international tour schedule.
For his outstanding musical performance, the Belgian conductor Philippe Herreweghe, founder and artistic director of the Orchestre des Champs-Elysées was awarded the French titles Officier des Arts et des Lettres and Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur.
